Photo Portrait Stand
Fotos Para Tu Familia is a photo portrait stand designed to document L.A.’s undetected yet ever-changing immigrant communities which serve as the backbone to many of our industries. It’s also tribute to our immigrant upbringings.Understanding an immigrant’s longing for their families back home, Linus Shentu and I set up a portrait stand in one of L.A.’s immigrant hotbeds (MacArthur Park) with the promise of shooting portraits for patrons to send to their loved ones.
BLENDING IN WITH THE LOCALS
Taking inspiration with the nomadic retail stalls at the train station, we created hand-drawn signage and used very common materials to create a nomadic stand that blends in with the surrounding environment.
